The winery is adding two new products to its excellent selection: Mindoro, a 100% Viognier barrel-fermented white wine, and Luzón Dulce, produced with Sauvignon Blanc grapes

Bodegas Luzón has just launched two new wines that are brimming with non-conformity and irreverence and are quite unusual to Jumilla. We have Mindoro, a 100% Viognier barrel-fermented white wine, and Luzón Dulce, which is produced with Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Mindoro is an unusual and surprising wine that was produced by harvesting the grapes at night, as the low temperatures prevent premature fermentation. After being destemmed in the winery, the grapes are transferred to steel tanks for fermentation. Once they have reached their optimum level of ripeness they are transferred to French oak barrels, where they are dried for 48 months and then left to rest on their lees for a period of 6 months before fining and bottling.

This new wine has a fresh, floral character with notes of pineapple on the nose. It is surprisingly voluptuous and creamy, with a long and enveloping aftertaste.

Luzón Dulce, on the other hand, follows the path of irreverence, going against the grain as it is a sweet wine made with Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the land of Monastrell. An innovative wine that begins its journey late into the harvest, when the fruit has reached a higher level of sweetness and maturity. After the grapes are harvested and destemmed, they are transferred to steel tanks where they undergo alcoholic fermentation for 12 days, before being transferred to French oak barrels where they are aged for 8 to 10 months.

Luzón Dulce has a complex aroma of vanilla, honey and orange peel, with notes of orange blossom and caramel on the nose and spices such as pepper on the palate.

These two new additions from Bodegas Luzón are now available from the winery’s own online store and in specialist shops. They are opening up new horizons for Bodegas Luzón, surprising and captivating with their boldness and freshness.
