Bodegas Luzón kicks off the 12th edition of its “Open Harvest”
Chosen as the second best wine tourism experience in the country and the first in the Region of Murcia
Bodegas Luzón kicks off the 12th edition of its “Open Harvest”, chosen as the second best wine tourism experience and the first in the Region of Murcia by the website Verema.com, the most visited Spanish-speaking community of wine and gastronomy followers, with over 123,000 registered users.
This initiative starts next Saturday 9th September with the star activities “Vendimia en Familia” (Harvest with the Family) and “De la uva a la copa” (From the grape to the glass), which will be held during every weekend in September. The first of these is aimed at children and adults alike to enjoy the fascinating world of wine. The second has grapes as the star of the show, which takes participants on a journey that guides them from the vineyard to the glass, revealing all the processes that shape Bodegas Luzón wines, and concludes with an exclusive tasting, reserved only for the harvest season.
On weekends from 30 September to 8 October, “Creciendo con el vino” (Growing up with wine) will be held, an activity in which participants will play with, compare and discover the evolution of wine through the different stages of its creation, tasting the wines directly from the tank, barrel and, of course, the bottle.
During the month of October, the most creative activities of all workshops will take place, starting with ‘Enólogo por un día’ (Winemaker for a day), on weekends from 14 to 22 October, in which participants will create their own wine from start to finish, including the creation of the label, experimenting with blends and varieties. However, the ‘Taller de pintura con vino’ (Wine painting workshop) will undoubtedly be the most artistic action of all. On 29 October, participants will enjoy a different kind of wine tasting while creating an artistic work in which the pigment to be used will be the wine itself and in which the artists, once the workshop is over, will receive a bottle of wine as a gift, whose label will include the illustration that each person has created.
In November, the activities will be much more gastronomic in nature, with a ‘Cata Maridaje de jamón y embutidos ibéricos’ (Ham and Iberian sausages pairing tasting) on 4 November and another ‘Cata maridaje de vino y queso’ (Wine and cheese pairing tasting) on 5 November, in which the wines of Bodegas Luzón and the cheeses of Palancares will be combined in a perfect pairing by sommelier Guillermina Sanchez.
“Open Harvest” will culminate with the celebration of the ‘Día Europeo del Enoturismo’ (European Wine Tourism Day), on 11 and 12 November, which will include a visit with a tasting of 2 wines and an aperitif, at a special price of €6, which also includes a 20% discount on all wines in the shop.
