ElPozo Alimentación joins the Cycling Tour of Spain as the new official sponsor
ElPozo Alimentación has become the new official sponsor of the Cycling Tour of Spain (La Vuelta) for the next three years, which reinforces its commitment to sport and healthy lifestyle habits.
The food Company has joined the 71st edition of the Spanish Tour to help promote a sporting discipline which requires great physical and psychological preparation. A selection of its products will accompany the race convoy to be tasted at the start as well as the finish by the event participants. The food made by ElPozo Alimentación is particularly beneficial for physical exercise due to its high protein content, which favours the increase and conservation of muscle mass.
Food is a fundamental aspect for the 198 athletes who will set off next Saturday 20th August from the Province of Ourense to cover the 21 demanding laps which will take them to Madrid, where they will arrive on 11th September. The Spanish Tour will have a first-rate crew, with the participation of the last winner of the Tour de France, Christopher Froome (Team Sky) who will be up against Alberto Contador (Tinkoff), Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team) and Esteban Chaves (Orica-BikeExchange). ElPozo Alimentación, through its brand BienStar, has also become one of the main sponsors of Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta, the female test which takes place before the final lap of the Madrid circuit.
ElPozo’s new sponsorship agreement reinforces a growing tendency which La Vuelta is experiencing, not only in financial terms but also in the quality of the sponsors. So said Javier Guillén, General Manager of La Vuelta: “To have such a prestigious brand as ElPozo, leader and benchmark in its sector, is a clear example of the qualitative jump that the race is undergoing. A brand which, what’s more, has a long history of sport sponsorship and with which we hope to continue to grow over the next three years.”
The Deputy General Manager of ElPozo Alimentación, Rafael Fuertes, states that “the values of sacrifice, discipline, commitment, dedication, team work and overcoming difficulties which sport represents is very much in line with our business philosophy, which is why we have been backing sport for more than a quarter of a century”.
A clear example is the sponsorship, for the last 25 years, of the indoor football club ElPozo Murcia. ElPozo Alimentación also sponsors the Spanish Paralympic Team in the Rio Games 2016, combining their support of sport and their commitment to the integration of disabled people.
