Procavi increases its turnover 16 per cent in 2015, to 253 million euros
The agro-food company Procavi, part of the Grupo Fuertes, closed its financial year with an increase in turnover of 16 per cent, reaching 253 million euros. In addition, the company continues strengthening its presence abroad, as is reflected in the increase in its exports, which exceed 37 million, 27.5 per cent more.
Its sales abroad are mainly in Europe, where it has offices in Portugal, France and Italy. The company also sells its products in countries in Eastern Europe and Sub Saharan Africa, and is widening its range of activity to include Persian Gulf Countries, taking advantage of its range of Halal meat products, suitable for Muslim consumers.
The number of people who work in the facilities of Procavi increased by 17.47 per cent in relation to the previous year, reaching 1,284 between workforce and external companies. The company activity also generates 7,000 indirect jobs.
As far as investments are concerned, Procavi will aim 45 million euros in the next three years to increase capacity and production efficiency and reinforce its position as leader in the turkey meat market.
The investments are aimed at the construction of a new turkey processing centre in the integrated plant in Marchena (Seville), the modernisation of its packaging centre, located in the same complex, and the start-up of two new breeding plants in the province of Seville. These activities are expected to come into operation in 2018.
Procavi is a leader in the turkey meat market, with a national market share of 52 per cent and it is the fourth in Europe and the eleventh in the world. Its production capacity reaches 129,000 tonnes annually, which is equal to 11.9 million processed turkeys.
Integrated Control Process (ICP)
The company applies a circular model of management which controls all the phases of the production process to guarantee maximum quality, food safety and environmental respect.
Its activity includes from hatchery, feed factories, breeding plants, farms, quality control laboratory, slaughter and meat preparation room, to a waste water treatment plant, a plant using the by-products and another of cogeneration which works with gas, as well as selling and distribution of products .
