Tomás Fuertes chairs the Agro-food Commission created by the Chamber of Spain
The president of the holding company Grupo Fuertes leads the initiative started to reinforce competitiveness and prestige in Spain’s agro-food sector
The president of Grupo Fuertes, Tomás Fuertes, is chairing the Agro-food Commission started by the Chamber of Spain with the aim of reinforcing the competitiveness and prestige of a key sector of the Spanish economy, given that it constitutes the country’s main industrial activity.
When it was created, Fuertes defended the excellent quality of Spanish products and underscored the need to improve society’s food culture to increase the knowledge of the characteristics of different food and adjust them to the nutritional needs of each person. The Commission will focus its work on internationalisation, innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and safety in the sector.
The Agro-food Commission is made up of representatives from Alimentaria, Cajamar, Danone, El Corte Inglés, FIAB, Freixenet, Fundación Triptolemos, Grupo Matarromera, Heineken, IFEMA, Mercadona, Mercasa, Palex Medical, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment.
